Quiet time with God may seem small, but faithfulness in Scripture and prayer forms the heart in ways others may never see.
Luke 16:10 (NKJV)
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.
The quiet moments with God can seem small compared with everything competing for attention, but Scripture reminds me that faithfulness in little things matters. Prayer that no one hears and Bible study that no one sees can still become some of the most important parts of spiritual life.
The Holy Spirit works through the Word, bringing conviction, understanding, and direction. That means private devotion is not wasted time or merely a routine to complete. It is an opportunity to let God speak and to allow His Word to guide experience. Even a few undistracted minutes can become a place of genuine fellowship with Him.
“The Word of God is to be the man of our counsel, and is to guide our experience.” — Ellen G. White, This Day With God, September 2; Letter 342, September 2, 1907.
Practical Application
Set aside at least five unhurried minutes today for Scripture and prayer with no other agenda than listening to God and being with Him.
Closing Prayer
Father, make me faithful in the quiet place. Give me a hunger for Your Word and teach me to listen as Your Spirit guides me. Let Scripture shape my choices and my daily experience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
