Friday offers a natural opportunity to reflect, surrender, and draw nearer to Christ as Sabbath approaches.
2 Peter 3:18 (NKJV)
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Friday gives me a natural invitation to reflect before Sabbath begins. Growth in grace is not always dramatic or immediately visible. Often it is seen in small changes: a softer response, a quicker prayer, a deeper trust, or a willingness to return to Christ after falling short.
The Christian life also includes real spiritual conflict, but Christ is greater than the enemy who opposes His work. That truth keeps preparation from becoming anxious striving. As Sabbath approaches, I can look back honestly, confess what needs to be surrendered, thank God for where He has helped me grow, and draw nearer to Jesus in confidence.
“Christ ever proved Himself superior to Satan.” — Ellen G. White, This Day With God, September 4; Letter 292, September 4, 1906.
Practical Application
Before Sabbath begins, take a few quiet minutes to review the week. Thank God for one sign of growth, confess one area that needs surrender, and ask Him to prepare your heart for Sabbath.
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You that Christ is stronger than every power that opposes Your work in me. Help me reflect honestly, surrender what needs to change, and draw near to You as Sabbath approaches. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
